What’s up my people. I hope you’re enjoying your families and the holidays. It feels weird to say, but we’ve finally made it to 2020. TWENTY-TWENTY. Wow. Happy New Years!
So of course with the New Year come new goals, new commitments, and new plans. For me, its less of “new” goals and more of a rededication to current/old goals. I need to be more consistent. I’ve envisioned having an active blog for the longest, but for whatever reason, I never follow through. SO, with that being said, I’m gonna start blogging in 🙂
This year is about chilling out and taking focused action this year. Instead of trying to do ten different things at full speed, I figured I’d be more effective if I limit my focus to three or four. I’ve never been the type to focus on a few things, but I’ve learned that spreading my energy thin is not sustainable. When I finally made the decision to let go of some goals, I felt so much relief.
It feels good to not hold myself to superhuman standards. Is there an are of your life where you could relax a little? Are you expecting too much from yourself and not allowing yourself time to grow? Is your to-do list giving you anxiety that stops you from doing anything at all? Well, if you prefer inner peace and trusting the process, take my advice… TAKE A CHILL PILL!
We want ten year visions to manifest in one year. Our one year goals are so huge that feelings of failure and inadequacy are inevitable. We need to bump it down a notch. Now don’t get it confused. I’m NOT saying not to have challenging goals that will stretch and scare you. What I am saying is to give yourself time to take one step at a time. Give yourself the option to pour 100% of yourself into two goals rather than 15. As a society, we’re conditioned to overwork ourselves and be OK with it. But this year, self-care needs to be at the top of the list.
Everyone has their own balance, so what works for me will not work for you. My work ethic may be confusing to you, while your workload may be scary and overwhelming to me. Whatever your balance is, FIND IT. This comes by trying different approaches and figuring out what works best for you. I promise you, when you get aligned with your unique flow, you’ll feel no need to push yourself beyond your limits. So, I wish you many blessings and breakthroughs for this year. Be great! Adios 🙂
