Many of us are at a crossroads in life and we can’t seem to find that missing link between where we are and where we want to be. We look to other people for answers but they simply don’t have what we are looking for. For those seeking clarity and direction, I think I’ve got a solution… SELF AWARENESS! Actively learning about yourself and restructuring your beliefs is an awesome way to explore endless opportunities. Practicing new behaviors, adopting new perspectives, and becoming your authentic self can bring about experiences you’ve never had before. While travelling on this journey of self-discovery, I’ve learned that there is so much more to life than following the crowd. There are so many unique aspects of me that only I can express to the world, and only I can give myself permission to let my light shine. The same goes for you. There is something in you that cannot be found in anyone else, and only you have the power to release whatever that may be. When you start living life as your authentic self, rid of false labels and identities, you start to see that you have so much creative power within you just waiting to burst out. There is so much within you that is waiting to be revealed, and only you can let it out.

In this very moment, you can choose to live a life true to yourself. The Self that is confident in its talents, loving of its flaws, and compassionate in every way. You do not have to assume the identity that someone else has created for you. You don’t have to be something that you are not to please others. They do no have the key to your destiny. You do. You can become your own person and love who you are. Fully. Now how can you possibly do that? Decide to view yourself through your own eyes and not the opinions of others. Of course that is not the only thing you need to do, but it’s a start. We get sidetracked by allowing what other people say to have power over us, but it does not have to be that way. People should not have the authority to deter you from your path. More often than not we allow this to happen, but it is time to put a stop to victimization.

You can dismiss the negative remarks that people make about you and soar above them. No one can hurt you unless you allow them. So what no one thinks you’re pretty. You don’t need them to. The only approval you need in this life is your own. Allow yourself to be forgiven of your shortcomings and work to become greater. When you fall, don’t blame yourself. Get back up and continue to shine brightly. Treat yourself with unconditional love, and then reflect that love outwardly to everyone you come in contact with. Allow your life to be a story of unwavering love. A love that you could not find in other people, and you had no choice but to find it from within. Not that love is scarce in our surroundings, but if we do not have love for ourselves then we cannot see the abundance love in this world.

What you think of yourself will influence how you see the world. Your self-perception has a large impact on your reality that “appears” to be real. I purposefully put appears in quotation marks because your reality can change at any moment. A job position you’ve secured can be lost in the blink of an eye. A relationship partner you adore can leave you out of no where. On the same token, a slight shift in your beliefs can cause a huge transformation in your life. For example, I asked my higher self to show me where I was not loving myself, and where I held false images of who I was. This helped me to recognize and remove the false belief that I was “not good enough” and “not pretty enough.” Now, as a result of creating a higher perspective of myself, I am experiencing greater love in relationships and everyday experiences. I realized that there is a strong correlation between my interactions with others and how I view myself, so I decided to see myself as the Queen that I am. It wasn’t until I questioned my beliefs and perceptions that I was able to make change.

I challenge you to dig deeper into who you really are. What do you think about yourself? Find out what influences your beliefs about who you are, your place in this world, and your purpose in relation to others. Whether that means talking to yourself and asking questions, talking to God, or going into meditation, just do it. Whatever form of inquiry you choose will benefit you greatly. The rewards for moving beyond the fear of asking questions is immeasurable. It’s OK to not know everything, but seek to transform the confusion between you and your true self. Strive to raise your awareness of who you are and where you come from. Those who genuinely seek truth will surely find it, and you are not an exception. The key to this process though is trusting the answers that you get, and not making negative judgments of them. You have to be able to accept yourself completely and then make improvements where you see fit. Don’t fear the process, for it is the beginning of growth towards authentic living.

Honestly, I think that once you begin to understand who you truly are, you will want to take responsibility for all that you are. Your actions, your thoughts, and your beliefs all have the power to influence your reality. The life that you are living is literally coming from within you, not anyone else. The Universe is responding to you in every moment. You really do have the power to create your own life. Personally, I am overjoyed by the thought of knowing that I am co-creating all aspects of my life with the Divine. Not co-creating with a boss at work, not with the government, not with a professor in school, not with a preacher at church, but with the Divine spirit that inhabits us all. The answers live within you, and they are waiting to be found. Trust in yourself. Trust in your abilities, and believe that all will unfold for your highest good.
