Who do you Think you are?

The idea that I’ve entertained over the past few months encourages taking responsibility for your own life. You can either let the intentions and decisions of other people run your life, or you can take responsibility. If you want something extraordinary to happen, you have the power to take action that produces effective results.

It is a freeing feeling to know what we are made of. I am amazed at how much power we have over our own lives. Not our mom’s life, not our sister’s life, not our child’s life, but our own. Others have their own direction and purpose for being here devoid of outside influence.

The only person that can make your dreams come true is yourself.

Instead of relying on college admissions to determine your level of intelligence, why not believe that you are a genius. Instead of waiting on a manager to pick you for a promotion, why not promote yourself to pursue your supreme purpose. Why not trust your inner knowing and be the person that you want to become. Only you can be that person. Parents cannot live your life for you. They have their own aspirations to follow. They have their own reasons for being alive on this planet.

My current reason for being here is to live my own life. I’m not a creep, but I have tried to live so many different lives in the past. Career aspirations, the major I chose in college, the interests that I expressed, and many other choices I made were derived from someone else’s opinion. I was living someone else’s life. After enduring painful periods of loneliness, I finally figured out that I needed to know myself. I went on a quest to find an authentic connection within myself, and I found it.

Learn who you are beyond what you categorize yourself to be.

You can only see what you see in yourself. If you do not think you are successful, then you may not find success in the world. If you do not think you are worthy of affection, then you may form jealousy towards those who experience it. Every thought you apply to yourself affects your worldview in some way. It takes actively looking at your inward projections to develop compassion for others.

One awesome result of discovering unconditional love in yourself is being able to see the beauty in everything, every person, and every situation. There is a lesson, a purpose, and an opportunity in everything. There can also be failure, disappointment, hurt, and anger. You have to find the courage to step beyond your fear of the worst scenario becoming reality. The possibilities are simply infinite. You can do anything. Nothing is impossible.
